Malena va de compras

Malena loves to go shopping.

She not only enjoys shopping in
department stores and shopping centers,
but in open-air markets as well.

Malena is also a very careful shopper and
tries to take advantage of sales buying
only reduced priced items.
Let’s go with Malena on a brief shopping
adventure and learn the names of the
places she shops and help her find a
birthday present for her friend Antón.
In contrast with English, in Spanish,
adjectives follow the nouns they modify
and agree with them in gender and
number:
una blusa roja
los vaqueros negros

quickly forgets that she is supposed to be
shopping for a birthday gift for Antón.
Instead of buying a gift for Antón, what
does she buy for herself?

dress, she continues on her search to find the

Malena finds an open air market where
she stops to buy some fruit to reenergize herself.
