Hebrews 12:26-29~MEDITATION~Hebreos 12:26-29
26At
that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised,
“Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.”
27The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken
—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.
28Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken,
let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and
awe, 29for our “God is a consuming fire.”

26Su
voz hizo temblar entonces la tierra, pero ahora El ha prometido,
diciendo: AUN UNA VEZ MAS, YO H ARE TEMBLAR NO SOLO
consumidor.
Zerubbabel,
Governor of Judah
Meaning of his name:
(Sown in Babylon) or (Seed of Babylon)
o An heir to the throne of Judah
o I Chronicles 3:
o In the company of the returning exiles
o Ezra 2:
o In the genealogy of Jesus Christ
o Matthew 1:
o Luke 3:
An Unshakeable Kingdom

A continued shaking (2:7,8)

A judgment on the kingdoms of the nations

A miraculous intervention
“The prophet uses traditional vocabulary for
God’s miraculous intervention. As at the
Exodus horses, chariots and riders will go
down; kingdoms will be overthrown as were
Sodom and Gomorrah; men will fall every one
by the sword of his fellow(as in the story of
Gideon). The fact that Judah is small and
defenseless makes no difference when God
says “I will overthrow”, He will act, and Judah
will not need to fight.”
Joyce Baldwin
A Chosen King

The chosen servant

The restored signet ring

The re-stated promise
“Jehovah, had chosen Zerubbabel as His servant. With these
words the Messianic promise made to David was transferred to
Zerubbabel and his family among David’s descendents, and
would be fulfilled in his person in just the same way as the
promise given to David…The fulfillment culminates in Jesus
Christ, the son of David and descendant of Zerubbabel , in
whom Zerubbabel was made the signet-ring of Jehovah. Jesus
Christ has raised up the kingdom of His father David again,
and of His kingdom there will be no end."
