El imperativo familiar
Familiar commands
To form the familiar singular
command simply take the 3rd
person singular form of the
present tense.
For example…
Ejemplos: -ar,-er,-ir
 Estudia esta noche. Study tonight.
 Come más. Eat more.
 Sube. Get on.
Don’t forget stem-changers.
Remember there a stem-change in the 3rd person of
the present tense, isn’t there?
 Empieza ahora. Begin now.
 Vuelve a las once. Return at 11:00.
 Pide el pollo. Order the chicken.
Ok then….What about reflexive
Siéntate. Sit down. (seat yourself)
Diviértete. Have fun
Acuéstate. Go to bed.
Mírate. Look at yourself.
>Attach the reflexive pronoun on to the end of the command.
>Place a written accent on the 3rd to the last syllable to
maintain stress there. (where it would have been if the
pronoun were not there) If there are only 2 syllables, no
accent is needed.
>Since you are commanding a peer, you will be using the
“te” reflexive pronoun.
And Indirect Object Pronouns?
