In all of the previous examples,
“se” and “nos” represent each other
Los pájaros se besan
The birds kiss each
other.
Nosotros nos abrazamos
We hug each other
Is this a reciprocal action?
In this case, only one person
is performing the action
upon the other.
La muchacha besa a su novio.
OR
La muchacha le da un beso a su novio.
To form the reciprocal
reflexive follow these steps:
Take the verb and strike out the “se”
1. abrazarse
2. decide which pronoun to use: se/nos
3. write the pronoun in front of the verb
4. conjugate the verb into any tense you would
like:
a. se abrazaban
they used to hug each other
b. nos abrazábamos
we used to hug each other
