placed after the conjugated verb.
❏ Unlike English, the direct object pronoun is
placed directly before the conjugated verb.
Quiero la camisa.
La quiero.
I want the shirt.
I want it.
When an infinitive follows the conjugated
verb, the direct object pronoun can be:

Los quiero comprar. I want to buy them.

Identify the direct object. Who or what receives the action of the verb?
Is it: masculine or feminine? Singular or plural? 1st, 2nd, or 3rd person?
Select the correct direct object pronoun based on #2.
Eliminate the direct object noun and replace it with the appropriate direct
object pronoun. *You may have to change the placement*
