Buen Viaje Nivel 2
Cap. 7 pág. 200, 203

The conditional tense in Spanish is used just
like it is in English- to talk about what would
take place under certain circumstances.

Por ejemplo:
 I would attend the concert, but I have too much
homework.

The conditional is also used to soften requests.

Por ejemplo:
 Would you please pass the salt?
 ía
 íamos
 ías
 íais
 ía
 ían


To form the conditional tense:
 Infinitive form of verb + conditional ending
 we would study…
 estudiar + íamos = estudiaríamos
Ejemplos:
 I would live… Viviría…
 They would buy… Comprarían…
 You would travel to… Viajarías…
 We would eat… Comeríamos…
 Paco would listen… Paco escucharía…



I would attend the concert, but I have a lot of
homework.
Asistiría al concierto, pero tengo mucha tarea.
Would you please pass the salt?
¿Pasarías la sal por favor?



Some verbs have irregular stems in the
conditional tense.
The irregular conditional tense stems are the
same as the irregular future tense stems.
The irregular stems use the same endings as
the regular conditional tense verbs.
