• There are three types of verbs in Spanish… verbs that end in –AR, verbs
that end in –ER, and verbs that end in –IR.
Compare the two –ER verb conjugations with

• Apart from the “yo” form, all of the
–ER verb endings start with “e”.
• Besides this “a” and “e”
difference, the verb endings are the
same.
Same rules apply…
• Before adding verb conjugation endings you must take off the last
two letters of the infinitive.
• Take off the –AR, -ER, or –IR before adding the verb endings that
match the subject you are talking about.
