Public speaking is a

Successful public speaking
consists of 3 elements: 3 C’s
1. Content
Your message must be packed
with practical information,
presented in a memorable and
entertaining way.
2. Confidence
You must believe that your speech
can make a difference.
3. Connection
You must be able to make a
connection with the audience so
that they respect you, admire you,
and are willing to learn from you.
EYE CONTACT
• VERY important skill to master, result: confident
and personable.
– Start by watching others: dart around the room,
look at their slides or the ceiling, look at the tables
in front of their audience.
– Confident speakers look right at the people they
are speaking to, deliberately and smoothly.
– Practice making eye contact for three to
five seconds per person, long
enough to really connect with them, but not long
enough to get "stuck" or make them feel
uncomfortable.
– A great way to practice eye contact is to practice
your presentation in a meeting room, looking at all
the chairs, one at a time, for three to five seconds
each.
• It takes time and practice to learn any new set of
skills, and learning how to present successfully
is no exception.

clearly, for your image is you in the eyes
and minds of others.
