Nebuchadnezzar II
Daniel 2:1-19
• 5 The king answered & said to the
Chaldeans, “My decision is firm: if you
do not make known the dream to me, &
its interpretation, you shall be cut in
pieces, & your houses shall be made an
ash heap.
• 19 Then the secret was revealed to
Daniel in a night vision. So Daniel
blessed the God of heaven.
Daniel 2:24-45
• 28 But there is a God in heaven who reveals
secrets, & He has made known to King
Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter
days.
• 45 Inasmuch as you saw that the stone was cut
out of the mountain without hands, & that it
broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay,
the silver & the gold- the great God has made
known to the king what will come after this.
The dream is certain, & its interpretation is
sure.
FOUR KINGDOMS – not FIVE
• Premillenial Advocates
try to introduce a FIFTH
element into this image.
• Some say the Feet

– Papal Rome & Modern
Nations of Europe –
“New World Order”
– Antichrist – Islamic
Caliphate
– United States

Daniel 2:44
“And in the days of these kings the God of
heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be
destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to
other people; it shall break in pieces and consume
all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.”

•
•
Kingdom God would Set Up:
1. Never be destroyed, stand forever
2. Not left to other people
3. Break in pieces & consume all earthly
kingdoms
What Happened in The
Days Of Those Kings?
• The Lord’s Church Was Established – 1st
Pentecost After Resurrection of Jesus – Acts
Chapter 2
• IT SHALL STAND FOREVER!
• Vss. 22-24 God approved Jesus
• Vss. 25-27 Quotes David – Psalm 16:8-11
• Vs. 29 David speaking as a Prophet – God
would set One Upon His Throne

Daniel 7:13,14
14 Then to Him was given dominion & glory & a
kingdom, That all peoples, nations, & languages
should serve Him. His dominion is an
everlasting dominion, Which shall not pass
away, And His kingdom the one Which shall
not be destroyed.”
Observations:
1. One like the Son of Man given Kingdom
2. Dominion & Kingdom everlasting & shall
not be destroyed
Daniel 7:13,14
Daniel saw the Son of Man ascend upon
the wings of the clouds of heaven- Acts
1:9-11
“Son of Man” – Meaning Messiah –
Matthew 8:20
Brought Him to “the Ancient of Days,”
which is God – Psalm 90:2
Given Dominion, Glory, a Kingdom, that
all people, nations & languages should
serve Him.
What Do We Conclude About The
Church Jesus Said He Would Build?
• Matthew 16:18 “I will build My church”
• Old Testament Prophecies:
• Time – days of these kings – days of
Romans Caesars
• Scope – all peoples, nations, & languages”
– you, your children, all afar off, as many
as Lord God will call” Acts 2:39
• Everlasting Kingdom – Christ’s Body,
Church
There is no question that
God never intended to put
Jesus back on earth, on a
literal throne, in literal
Jerusalem. ALL was fulfilled
when Jesus died, was raised
from the dead, and
ascended to the Father.
Reasons Why Jesus Could Not
Return to Reign on the Earth:
• 1. He is our “High Priest Forever after the
order of Melchizedek” Hebrews 6:20
• 2. If He comes back to sit on literal throne
of David, He will have to Cease Being Our
High Priest since under Law of Moses He
would not be qualified to be a Priest
• 3. 1 Chronicles 3:16 – Jeremiah 22:24,30could not prosper on throne of David –
Matthew 1:11,12
David’s Throne
• Literal Chair of David?
• Solomon Sat of the “Throne of
David” 1 Kings 2:12
• He also sat on “The Throne of the
Lord” 1 Chronicles 29:23
• And he sat “On His Own Throne”
1 Kings 1:48
• “Throne” stands for Power of a King
What We Have Studied:
• Jesus reigns NOW in HIS KINGDOM,
sitting at the RIGHT HAND OF GOD –
Hebrews 1:3,13; 8:1
• People who are part of Christ’s Body, the
church of which He is the Head, are also
subjects in His Kingdom – now, today, not
some time in the future – Ephesians
1:22,23; Colossians 1:13; Revelation 1:9
• Christ has No Reason To Return to This
Terrestrial Ball – Hebrews 2:14,15; 5:8,9
